"Incu-Kit" incubator. Quick, painless and works great!!

I may order one of those too! Thank you for posting this. I have a big styrofoam shipper that I have been saving to do something similar and the GQF electronic thermostat/heater/fan assembly is almost double the price.

As far as the humidity question, you would probably control that in the same manner you would in any incubator. There are very few incubators that come with an sort of auto humidity control.

Just a small container of water in the bottom for humidity. It continues to hold the temp pretty well. Swings between 99.7 and 100.7. I'm good with that. Put the eggs in last night. When I get home I'll upload them.

It is fabulous!! I do think that having a thick-walled styrofoam container helps in keeping the temps steady. One tiny, tiny cup of water at the bottom keeps the humidity right at 45%. In fact, I think I could probably just put a few drops of water in the bottom each morning and it would stay steady at around 40% which is about where I'd really like to keep it.

I had 3 dozen egg in it and they were manually turned (in a carton) twice a day. I know that more is better, but I wasn't there to turn them myself and relied on Granny Donna to do it

....and knew there would be some clears. After we got back from vacation, I candled and tossed all but 10. I put them in my Rcom Suro King to hatch and we hatched 8 of the 10. However, I think next time, I will just leave them in the styro bator and let them hatch in there.

My only complaint with the Rcom Suro King is the lack of height for hatching chicks. I wish there was a plastic "extension" that could be added at lockdown that would give the chicks more head room.

I believe that I will start incubating in the Rcom and then put them in the styro bator for hatching. The temp swings are less than they were when I first fired it up. I highly recommend the kit.

this thing looks awesome, im so glad it's working out for you. I've always wanted to build my own incubator but was intimidated by all the wireing and things i needed to purchase to get it working right....but now this kit changes everything!!! Do keep us updated

I bought one and built a hatcher using it. Its been running for about 10 days now and the temp has been very steady. The hatcher is 24x24x10 drawer style. I use a bread pan under the wire for water and the humidity has been steady as well.
