Incubate now for December chicks

Does anyone sell chicks around Christmas. Thinking of setting up the brooder. It's not problem if they don't sell as few days old but was just wondering if they would sell a lot, with Christmas gifts and such and then I think that's probably not the route I want for my birds.

Where you could really make this work, if you have the space to do it, is to hatch then and brood them to the 12+ week point so that you have "coop ready" and nearly point of lay birds just as everyone is starting to think about chicks in the spring -- there are always folks looking to have birds that are "ready to go" vs being those needy little fuzz butts.
