Hey guys! Today my eggs are 15 days old, and I am SOOO excited to hatch them out! I put them in the incubator at about 8:00 p.m. July 8th, that being said, they should hatch THIS sunday! Wondering if there is any tips/advice for 15 days and older! Should I put a towel below the eggs before lockdown? Helping eggs along etc! Thanks so much!!:thumbsup

Good luck for a successful hatch. Generally the less the intervention the better the hatch.
X2! I keep reading about people poking "safety" holes in the eggs during lockdown. I do not know why they do that. I must have missed something somewhere. Same thing happened back when people were hand Turing eggs 10 times a day.
Saw this video, and there is a really cool mat thing in there! Anybody used this?

That is a silverware drawer mat that is sold in the home goods section of stores. You can find them at dollar stores too

That's interesting. I'm not sure about that mat with the grooves in it in that video. I don't really understand the point? It's not stopping the chick from bumping the other eggs? Maybe someone can tell us both, lol!
It is not necessary but protects from the chicks from the wires. You can take it out of the incubator, scrape off the goo and then pop it into the clothes washer.

Makes cleanup much easier

@ronott1 Thank you! I'm not sure what you would call it, but does having the eggs divided like that in those ridges serve a purpose during lock-down? I've only ever seen eggs laid flat, but incubating is still very new for me.

I'm exactly right there with you! :clap I set some eggs on the 8th too!

My incubator went out for 4 hours today...so scared that it will ruin them! But I still see movement on candeling...so I'm hoping for the best.

I use doggie pee pads when I go into lockdown. Super easy clean up and soft, semi-textured surface for the littles to walk and dry on (its wonderfully absorbent).

Yay!:wee We should post pics on the same thread!! I have 9 eggs total, and I candled them today ( yes... under my big comforter) and saw that 2 of them must have stopped... but that's 7 eggs still! How many do you have??
