I have been watching my neighbor’s Guineas for a few day and I asked if I could incubate the eggs I collected and they said I could. So I have been collecting them. But today I found and egg that was laid without a shell(the top egg). It has the membrane around it and feels like rubber to the touch. I was wondering, if I tried to incubate this egg would it develop at all, die midway through incubation or have a possibility of a live chick. I was just wondering if anyone has been stupid enough like me to try something like this. Any knowledge/advice would be appreciated.

Try it! Try it! Try it!
Why not? What’s the worst that can happen-it won’t work?
This is what I was going to say... The worse that'll happen is it won't work and could affect the other eggs, but it would be interesting if it did work.

I am unsure how you'd turn it though without tearing it. Maybe putting it in a container so if anything does happen it won't ruin all the eggs.

The worst thing that can happen is you take a life with almost no chance and create a monster. I don't know, it doesn't seem right to try this in my opinion; but, it's your choice and I'm not going to stand in your way if you give it a go. I just know I wouldn't.

I do believe I will try because it does have a chance at life and I believe it should be allowed to live if possible. My plan is to make a small 4 sided plastic box for it and put a little wall between it and the other eggs. The ends of the box will be open so gas exchange can happen and I won’t have to directly touch the egg when turning to reduce risk of breakage. I’ll try to keep everyone updated on this and I hope this doesn’t blow up in my face

Keep us updated. I know hatching eggs has been done with no shell at all and have been sucessful, but I've yet to see it with my own eyes. I've just seen pics and articles on it.
