For a silkie baby chick its $20 and thats for just a baby chick!. I think for a grown chicken its around $40
 
We had this going when we had sugar gliders. When we moved to Pa, they wouldn't issue permits, thus making them illegal to own. Sugar Glider...the Australian flying squirrel??? I had a brief exposure to one. Nastiest little bugger I ever saw.

Wasn't hard... recommend shipping in 500-1000 as your starters , much easier, avoid mold-- no potatoes, carrots always did well. We raised a couple wild birds that were given to us and they finished off the colony.

Yeah , I didn't even see your comment. They have to bond to people from a young age. If they don't, they will be nasty. I had some that weren't held. Then one that was and we tamed the rest and sold them to others held straight from the pouch.
Here's a couple memories I grabbed to show you.
