Incubating and Hatching in Cartons, Day 20 AND!??! (PIC!)

I never have used cartons, but I may try it for part of my next hatch and see how it goes.

So these little Polish chicks are frisky! They're popping like popcorn out of those shells! I think I've got....4? 5? Another one zipping?? Goodness. I've got 2 Marans out of their shells, too. And tons more eggs pipped. Every single Polish on one side of the 'bator is pipped, and some on the other (I have the 'bator divided, so I can keep who's who straight--I've got two different lines of Marans and two different pens of Polish). One of the Marans was ginormous and had a real hard time getting out of the shell--not sure if it's going to make it--but wow is it a big 'un! The thighs on that chick are thick!

There's a party in my 'bator! I can hear them peeping all the way upstairs. I badly want to take some pics, but I can't open the 'bator yet. In the morning I'm going to move everyone who's dry to the brooders and I hope to have some pics to share then!

So darn cute!! Can someone tell me what zipped means?? I just set my first set of eggs in my bator on Saturday night, so this is all new to me. Thanks!!
