I set 18 ameraucana eggs and 4 silkie eggs, all from my own chickens in a nurture right 360 incubator. At my daughter’s house, we set 12 ameraucana eggs, again my own eggs another nurture right 360.

We kept the incubators at about 50% humidity the first 18 days and temp at 99.5*. At lockdown, humidity was between 70-72% and temp at 99.5.

I think I had 9 Ameraucanas that were either infertile or just didn’t do anything. I had 4 hatch. 2 were really late quitters. The others were early quitters. 2 silkies hatched, 1 was DIS and 1 was a late quitter.

Out of the 12 at my daughters, 1 hatched. 9 were either infertile or just didn‘t do anything. 2 were quitters.

I‘m not sure how old the eggs were, I don‘t think older than 2 weeks. I’d like to have better success. The person that I purchased some silkies and eggs from said to lower the humidity. I’d like some help.

My rooster to hen ratio is great. The ameraucanas are 5 hens to 1 rooster. I’ve had 3 of them for 2 years, and hatched their babies. I recently added a trio of 2 hens, buff, and a wheaten rooster. Since i had a few eggs hatch, I know the rooster is fertile. All the chicks are dark. My original 3 hens are a splash and 2 blues. There weren’t any yellow chicks so I don’t think any of the buff hens were any good. The silkies are an even better ratio, 2 hens to 1 rooster.

One thing I learned is to not handle them as much, don't candle to often especially in the first week . It's a learning experience humidity works different for all different places . Hope you have a better hatch next time !
