Ok hatch one with higher humidity is officially complete. Started out with 32 homegrown mutt eggs from my own flock, ended up with 18 going into lockdown, 12 healthy babies one deceased scissor beak and one still waiting in the bator to absorb it's yolk. This is a huge improvement over my last several hatches. I definitely feel I am on the right track.
Tonight is lockdown for the shipped bielefelder eggs. Well candling didn't reveal much..... one looks like a possible quitter but I am unsure so all 12 are going into lockdown. Now we wait...... and pray. I did see movement in one but the rest just look full?

An update pic of my fluff balls

one of the chipmunk stripes apears to be a more blond one....... can't wait to see what they end up looking like!

The little one that had unabsorbed yolk didn't make it..... so just the 12 from my July hatch. I did come home to one of the bielefelder babies out running around the bator! We have another one with an external pip and more with internal pips! So excited to see the babies.

One more hatched this morn to my untrained eye they appear to be female..... I think we shall see what it looks like when they get all fluffed up. One of the main reasons I wanted the Bielefelders was the auto sexing!

Ok hatch day and we have 3 girls and 2 boys running around the brooder. I hear 6 more talking in the bator..... very exciting!

as of this morn I have 8 bielfelders running around the brooder and one more out of the shell drying off in the bator. one baby is still working on getting out, 10? out of 12 that went into lockdown is not bad for shipped eggs!

So final count on the shipped bielefelder eggs..... 10 out of 12 are running around the brooder! Yeah..... the last one still seems to flip flop but time will tell

here is a pick of a couple girls, with the chipmunk stripes, and 2 boys, in the back more gray

Over all very happy with this hatch! Just put the final ones for August into lockdown. 7 eggs out of 10 I set for a friend...... we shall see how it goes
