Incubating at home for newbie do it yourself in Tennessee

On day 18 before I put them on lockdown I candled my two remaining eggs and both of them showed activity. Finally on day 23 after I had not seen any movement or anything for my eggs I decided to Candle them. I noticed one of them was dead right off the top by the way the liquid moved in the shell I cracked it and there was a chick dead that looks to be about 14 days old by the pictures on google. I then turned down the humidity since by that time my eggs had been on lockdown for five days, I continued to incubate my one remaining egg until last night when I decided to Candle the egg again when I picked up the egg to Candle it I noticed a scratching sound and when I shined the light and I noticed the air pocket was ruptured. I put it back in the same spot and this morning I noticed some eggshell at the bottom of my incubator though I did not touch it based on what I found yesterday. I'm really hoping by the time I get home in 7 hours the chick has made some progress because I'm so anxious to see what is going to happen. Im worried it might be messed up and i font know how i but i have a feleing that when i tried the Styrofoam incubator it never was actually incubatin the egg.
