Hello

I'm having a difficult time keeping my humidity up. Running about 45% but all of my wells are full and I even have extra sponges to bump it up. No luck yet. Also wondering about fermented feed. Should I decide to go that direction I was wondering if I should do it right away or wait a few weeks.

Thanks

Try adding a few cups of water if you have the space. It's surface area of the water that will increase humidity. It can be tricky getting it right.

Initially I'd give them ground up feed scattered throughout the brooder so wherever they pick they find food. It only takes them a day or two to find the food bowl, then you could start with the wet feed. You might want to do both, dry food constantly in a feeder and fermented feed fed once a day as in the heat of a brooder it will start to spoil. Plus they are messy babies! But so cute. Good luck with your hatch.

It matters somewhat where the incubator is located. Do you live in a high or low humidity area? Is the Incubator located in a climate controlled area or is it outside? We never have a problem keeping the humidity up, but in extreme situations, you may want to consider two wicks in the pan.

inside and climate controlled. The only thing I can think of is it is battling with the lower humidity of the room and the heat running.

I didn't use a humidity measure, but on day 1 I added two cups of water and filled it got low. had about 10/12 hatch, so pretty good.

What type of incubator?
Have you double checked the hydrometer for accuracy.
What day are you on?

Most generally if you fill all the wells you will push 60 to 70 percent humidity. Good for hatch but not incubation.

The electronic I just purchased shows 42-46 and the incubator is a farm innovators 2100. The gauges on the incubator show 50. On day 8
