I put my Khaki Campbell eggs in the incubator yesterday with an estimated Hatch Date of Nov. 25. Next Friday, the 4th I will add the Chicken eggs that I get from the Rooster Pen. (Rooster Pen is where I keep the Bad Boys, when I want fertile eggs I add Hens.
I don't know how well this will work, as I have had zero luck with ducks so far, and have not tried ducks with chickens at all. This is my second round with the incubator. I had 7 lovely chicks hatch the last (and my first) try. My hen that I adopted 4 of my babies to, lost all of them
I don't know how you lose your children permanently, but she did. The others I gave to a friend who lost her whole flock to predators. So, in my sad, chick-less condition I decided to "Add Hens" to the "Roosties Pen", And in the process I discovered a few "Hidey Holes" that my ducks have deposited their eggs in. I hve no idea how old these eggs are, some look very new, but some were in a nest with 50 other eggs, I discarded the majority and kept 19 of the best looking and least smelling
so we shall see if any hatch I guess. This is purely an experiment. Any and all advice will be considered and appreciated
