Is this alright? I know that the duck eggs would have to be at day 10 before putting the quail eggs in so they hatch at the same time, if it is possible would it lower my hatch in any way?

Thanks,

I don't know the answer to your question. But I have ten quail eggs in with a bunch of duck eggs right now so... I'll know before long, lol. We actually set them so that the quail eggs will hatch between two staggered duck egg hatches--we were worried that if they hatch at the same time, the ducklings would trample the very tiny quail. So we're just running the hatch in staggers, which we were already doing with the duck eggs anyway.

Interested to see what others have to say...

I'm planning on doing the same thing, with the staggered hatch. So, we will see what happens as well. My temp is set at 99.5 and humidty around upper 65 for my duck eggs in the incubator.

Supposedly the temp has to be at 99.9 for quails, but we will see. Will update on status of what happens when it happens, and how it went. Good Luck!

My mixed batch is in lockdown for an earlier set of duck eggs right now. I'll let you all know how they look after the hatch, but they were looking great going *into* lockdown. I did crack one a bit--I dropped it on one of the duck eggs, and the duck egg won.

I fixed it with nail polish and we'll see how it goes.

The quail are due in the middle of next week.

I have quail eggs in my incubator at all times. Button and coturnix to be exact. I also put 24 duck eggs in there (mixies) to incubate with them. I now have some cayuga eggs in there as well. So far, there are still most of the mixed duck eggs left (at least 19 left), and they should be hatching on the 12th. My quail eggs certainly haven't had any issues, they've been hatching left and right.
