Just got a new incubator. My duck eggs are a bit too large for the automatic turner. How often do they need to be turned manually?

Turn the eggs an odd number of times a day, I usally either turn 3 or 5 times a day and turn in a different direction each time, turning a odd number of times helps to keep the eggs from sitting on one side every night. Just write X on one side and O on the other, so you can tell which side to turn. Best of luck with your hatch !

Anconas. Planning on putting 12-14 in, depending on how many I get. I have 3 females, so we usually have 3 eggs per day. They are so pretty. And nobody mistakes them for wild!

We put a few of the old eggs in the incubator just to try it out, it seems they do roll in the outer circle, but not the inner one. I'll save that for chicks later. (Harris 360)

I have some large Welsh Harlequin eggs ina 360 that turn well. But if you’re not maxing out the incubator then I like keeping them in the order ring.

Ah, good to know and what fits in the automatic turner. I think we have the same incubator. Once the current batch of chicks a couple weeks old, I wanted to start a clutch of duck eggs. I'm hoping to see what happens when you cross a Silver Appleyard with Welsh Harlequins. :)
