I have about 12+ duck eggs in the incubator. so far all the ones that are from my hen are showing awesome growth already, still watching the 3 eggs i got from someone up the road.

I have had a lot of temp problems because of a bad wafer, especially in the beginning. but they still seem to be growing well. does anyone know if this will affect the chick or hatch date?

temp has been fine since i replaced it but got a little low yesterday, around 98.3F.

I don't wanna keep checking them constantly, but this is my first time hatching duck eggs in an incubator instead of under a light bulb. I only hatched 1 from the last batch of 6 i got from a fellow BYC'er, so i am a little nervous with these. i really want them to hatch, my hen and drake are super cute..

I've got some Muscovy eggs in with my chicken eggs, I'd be curious to see if there is anything different as well.

Low Temps are good, hot temps are bad... Think of the birds leaving their nests to eat or scared off nest..

Low temps won't hurt them if they warm back up soon afterwards.

I just had a power outage and after 1 day 3 1/2 hrs, my Inc. got down to 69 degrees.. I had about 1/2 hatch rate on that one..

I still have 2 more Inc. that will be due on May 28 and in June. I'm hoping the drop didn't kill all of those since they were still very young embryos..

As for turning... Back in the late 1970s I was working and got to turn those duck eggs only once a day.. Seems like they all hatched if I remember correctly... I know I had 14 ducks until my bird dog got loose..

But if you have the time... 2 or 3 times might be better.. I try to get mine 2-3 times a day now..

Good Luck

I have been turning them 1-2 times per day and they seem to be growing good.

I had the temp go up to 104 in both my incubators yesterday (weird). it was at that for Maybe 20-25 minutes. will this affect the eggs?

i just added 2 more duck eggs this morning. i am going to have a terribly staggered hatch....and to think i was going for a whole hatch...lol.
