Incubating eggs from old hens

I have 14, Three year old RIR hens and 1 mixed breed rooster. The hens lay very large eggs. Would these be suitable to incubate?

I would think so if your rooster is still frisky...

If your roo is barred, wouldn't you get red sex link chiks? RIR roo and barred hens get red sex links, wondering if it works the other way. I would agree that if your roo is still frisky your eggs would be fertile. Good luck.

Good breeders value the older hens--good health and longevity is valuable in a hen. Go for it! THree isn't very old in chicken years. GL
