Incubating Eggs of different ages

So happy for you! I am going to be doing this in a couple of weeks as I have eggs a week apart in my incubator. Loved the pictures of the babies. Are you keeping the silkies?

We may keep a silkie roo for my hen, but the rest are going to a neighbor with some land.
The babies were still in the shell. Good luck with your 'bation!

WOO HOO! All the babies have finished hatching! 4 healthy lil' fluff heads.

i am very new to the whole incubation process but am having fun with my very first batch in my homemade bator...i have 4 eggs in now and its day 4...can i put more eggs in and just move these 4 to a different place on lockdown days??? like the box/plexiglass bator you had going on??? i have a hygometer(humidity checker) and a thermostat in and its going well...give me your thoughts...you inspire me :)

You certainly can if you have a brooder box set up. Also, when handling eggs, wash and DRY your hands before you touch them. This will help your hatch rate. Also, If you share your house with somebody else, prepare them for more peeps! Hatching eggs IS addictive, (can I hear an amen?

) so you will end up with... a lot. A month ago I had 0 chickens. Now I have 22 with 30 on the way!
