LOL, maybe our walmart is backwards then...heehee...our store bought eggs are almost always little end up. Wonder why they do that differently? Interesting...but I am VERY SORRY for any misunderstanding, or otherwise not being more spacific with my discription/post.

That doesn't mean upside-down eggs. Stores don't pack eggs upside-down.
Sounds like a description of an upside-down carton to me.
ETA: I don't think there is a right-side-up to store bought eggs because they're for eating. LOL!!
LOL, I'm sure you are right. Either way, I deeply appreciate all of you helping on this. I was just curious how many of you hatched in cartons or "big end up" type situations. My kids hatch with a side view of the world...lol!
Thanks for asking, and answering, this question! I'm getting ready to hatch my first set of eggs, using the egg tray method. My DH made me a homemade incubator from a Styrofoam ice chest, including a manual egg turner with a handle to control it from outside the box. It looks really awesome! Right now, we're just trying to get the temp. and humidity just right, though... but it's taking some tweaking.
We're actually planning to use this batch as my son's Science Fair project. He's trying to see if he can hatch fertile eggs that were refrigerated prior to being placed in the incubator. He's also placing some non-refrigerated eggs in at the same time, to be the "test" group. I got the idea after reading about a BYC member who bought some "free range" eggs from a grocery store, and then tried to incubate them. She actually hatched one chick out of something like 22 eggs. I figured our own refrigerated eggs might have a better chance, since they wouldn't have been shipped or hauled around as much. We'll see how it works out for him, anyway.
