Incubating emu eggs

I have 2 emu eggs from a farm near me, both eggs that are on day 43 of incubation at 97.8 degrees and 36% humidity. I am thinking there are not good, but how can I be sure?

I have try the cooling method, and after 3-5 minutes, both eggs are showing a cooler end and a warmer end. Live chicks?

I tapped with no response, and I watched for signs of movement with no success.

When placing the eggs in a flat surface, both eggs have an inclination to the narrow part of the egg.

Could I have live chicks?

I'm not an expert by any stretch, since I'm just doing my first hatch of emus now, but the warm end of the egg is supposed to indicate that there is a chick in there. Some breeders say that they have eggs that never move or make any noise, and then hatch out. So, with you being so close to hatch anyways, I'd just keep going with them and see what happens.

I have 2 currently at end of day 49. Both wiggle one only some and no sound the other is dancing around and whistles like crazy. Don’t give up hope.

Update on emu eggs: today I did the water test and the results were: NO CHICKS. I opened the eggs:

Egg #1: was fertile, I could see some blood but no chick


Egg #2: was fertile, chick stopped developing at early stage.



Sadly, no emu chicks for me.
