Incubating error..What causes Crooked or deformed beak?

That's all I've ever heard too. That it's heredity. I would cull cross beak chickens or never use them in a breeding program.

yep, just checked and Storey's guide to raising poultry book says it's heredity.

Ravyn and bell are 100% correct
the only thing you can do with a cross beak chicken is keep it as a pet or eat it
I had one hatch with one eye and cross beak
he lives in the coop with my laying hens
i dont even think that he can catch the hens to breed with them
i seen him try but couldnt stay balanced the poor thing
