Incubating French Black Copper Marans

I put 12 in on 2/6. 9 made it to lock down. 6 hatched on day 21 and 1 on day 22...2 more eggs still in...but I think theyre done..

any updates?????

we have some chirping, some rocking and some pipping going on! The chirping is pretty loud so I'm assuming we are getting close. Tonight is start of day 21.

I set 24 bcm and 7 cuckoo marans with 6 light Brahma and 3 barnyard mixs early Feb. Mybarnyard mixes hatch dbest and the lb's didn't make it to lockdown. Cracked eggs it turn out. The marans had good lockdown eat but most of them were malpositioned. I had him at 40-50 until d18 then 70%+ after18. Seems they weron their side of oo early as a verbal internally pipped but lost St am and died. Marans seem very tough. Hadseveral l get shrink wrapped and had to help out.

20 white leghorns and 8 Rhode island white and 12 silkies cooking now. Well see how it goes

9 out six are Marans. I have 2 Marans eggs zipping right now and one buff egg pipped and 2 Marans. This was my lucky hatch. I'm happy 9 out day 21 and start of day 22 I'm looking at possible 5 more.

I did have one seems stuck in shell hallways for over 4 hours. Against my better thoughts I intervened and got him out and with a long bendable straw touched up with wet qtip the pipped ones exposed membranes through a large vent hole. Fingers crossed I didn't harm multiple to save one. Humidity was high and didn't seem to drop but 5%.

Any updates? I haven't posted but I am following I plan to hatch some marans mixed with other breeds (first time incubating - EVER) for the Easter Hatch-a-long. I am SO nervous!!! I'm using a Brinsea Octagon 20 eco. Hope you have some fluffy pics to post today!

14 hatched so far. I'm on day 22 right now. One more Marans zipping. Ten Marans have hatched and are doing great! Hoping we have some babies in there that are just resting.
