Incubating Grocery store quail eggs

Hey, I hatched mine from grocery eggs too! She's almost two years old now and I spoil the hell out of her:frow
All coturnix quails that I know hatched from grocery eggs have been basic pharaoh or egyptian type birds, but you might get lucky and get more colorful varieties as well. Good luck on your chick!

That's awesome! Did she hatch right on time? I was worried at first because it looked like she was a few days behind in development. She was still pretty small on day 7. Now I think she's on track but I can't tell for sure because I dont candle often. I'm still trying to decide if I should lockdown today or tomorrow. Today is day 14 (with the day the eggs were set being day 1). What do you think? Today or tomorrow?

This is the best I can get with it being dark lol
my advice on this egg is to stop turning @ day 15 since you are counting set day as day 1 and as @Kiki stated, keep your humidity between 45 and 50 through lockdown. (there are lots of people hatching that use 45 throughout, but i’ve found that 30 ish during incubation and 45-50 a lockdown gives best hatch). where did you order new eggs from? for the lone chick, I recommend a stuffed animal in the brooder for comfort until you can put in with new chicks

Thank you for that! I hadn't turned the egg yet this morning because I wasn't sure if I should start lockdown today or not.

I actually ordered the eggs on Ebay. I chose someone who had a high rating and lived in the same state as me so the eggs wouldn't spend too much time in the mail. I'm nervous though because you never really know what you're going to get when you order online.

Do you happen to have a link to that seller's eBay page?
