Or is it a space ship? I got this at a yard sell for 50 cents, my one Serama just started laying and my OEG bantys are not broody yet and she, the serama is well not the mothering kind. so what have I got to lose.

My best friend tells me that they used to incubate chicks on top of the hot water heater. They just placed the eggs on top and turned them several times a day.
Good luck with the serama egg! I can only imagine how tiny a serama pullet egg must be!

I have one roo Rohaus and his girl Molly. Molly's starting to get red in the face and on her comb so I expect that she'll start laying soon. I'm hoping to pick up a couple more pullets soon. I love my Serama too. They're my little preciousessesss and I'll probably hatch every egg I get! LOL

I know the feeling! I love my roo he is really nice, but my hen is just so/so but a cute pet. even knowing that I can't wait until I get some to hatch.

My hen is laying every three to four days. hopfully I'll have some hens go broody to hatch them out.

I have heard many mixed reviews about those incubators...but for 50 cents and a lot of watching/diligence/persistence you can probably hatch eggs in it.

LOL, this was the first incubator I had at age 12, I came home from school to find it 119 degrees inside... let's jsut say it didn't turn out well, lol. If you can check it several times a day you may have luck!

Good luck!

I had one just like that 35 years ago when I was just a youngin. We put 3 eggs in and had only 1 hatch. It was fun and very educational, but not sure I would want just 1 to hatch. They are too social and may be too lonely from possibly not being accepted by an established flock. I wish you luck and hope that you have better luck than I.

so far the temp is staying at 98 to 101 and it's been 12 days.......

I wanted this one at age 12 but never got it:lol:

If I do get some to hatch I hope I have more then one....
