Wow, I just watched this video where this Chinese girl incubated her eggs in a rice cooker, on a diy “water bed” for insulation

Now I know what to try if my broody ever abandons her eggs!

it also got me thinking that even without appliances, it’s completely possible to save eggs in emergencies by adjusting the right temperature water in a zip lock bag and putting the eggs on top of that with a blanket on top....

I know right! And 80% hatch rate too! I think with the way she managed the temperature and humidity, it was in some ways better than what the incubator could provide đŸ˜±
 
the water balloon is much more like a broody hen's bald skin next to the eggs, than air in an incubator. And will keep the temp more constant. So logical
