How did the bra incubating go?!Hi guys!
So because of lockdown here I don’t have anything else to do than...incubating an egg in my bra
I tried this spring, but all the eggs I tried with were infertile. Now, I know it is fertilized!
It’s a quail egg, I got my first blue one so I wanted to incubate it just for fun. I do have an incubator, but it’s just an experiment I want to do during lockdown/quarantine.
The egg is there for now almost 48h.Should hatch on January 24th-25th.
Will keep you guys updated! I candle it to see if he’s alive Sunday! Yay!!
Thats amazing!!!!View attachment 2605446

Don’t judge my technique too bad, I was pretty sure I was performing an eggtopsy!! Baby was early in day 21 of 18, no visible internal pip, no visible movement, so I decided to take a peek. Either she was dead or she was late enough that she might need a hand. So I opened up the air cell, still no movement, opened it a bit more and suddenly a beak! Here’s the result of my careful eggtopsy:

I covered the part that wasn’t her beak in some bacitracin to keep it from drying out and popped her back in her bra. I hope I didn’t mess up too badly, but I’m pretty sure she was tiring out before I opened her up so maybe I helped??? Hopefully I just didn’t do too much harm to the second bracubator titty bird
