Well, if anything I said is offensive or causes trouble, please take this as my official permission for a mod to delete anything of mine. I agree with the original poster that I enjoy debates of this nature, as long as it stays civil. I love to hear other peoples' opinions, especially the ones that disagree with me. And I've had many successful philosophical discussions including religion and politics where it didn't get ugly. I trust the folks that post here to understand that was one of the OP's conditions of participating in the discussion.

That said, again, if anything I have said is considered to be trouble of any kind, mods please feel free to delete my posts.

I think incubating is pretty ethical. However, I'm not a fuzzy little chick.

And, even if it were unethical, I would still do it!

Yeah I incubate my eggs because I don't have any broody hens, and as others have said - I WANT CHICKS!

If I had a broody hen, I'd certainly take that into consideration and let her do the work, but I, for the moment, do not have any broodies and don't know when that would happen. So, I'd rather just have my eggs get incubated and hatched on time.

EDITED:
I liked what you said.
"I think the folks incubating the eggs suffer more than the chicks do when they have an unsuccessful hatch."

I believe that yours is a very unbiased opinion.

Here in the south we like to say K.I.S.S. = keep it simple sweetie........ and that is what you did.

Thanks for what all you said.

We take honey from the bees.
We take milk that belongs to the young calves.
We eat the eggs of the hen that was to be the promise of young chicks to her.
And what we do to the Angus beef and Hamshire pig... oh my...

Oh, and we cut our hay BEFORE it goes to seed and feed it to our animals. Oh my...

Where is incubation in this list?
