Incubating Muscovy eggs

At hatch time, when i lower the temp I have noticed that it takes the babies longer to come out, i have also lost a few babies this way. With this hatch thats still going now, i have kept the temp at about 100F and the humidity at 75%-78% and the little buggers practically fly out of the eggs. so far i have had no problems with them, like still having yolk or anything.

anyone else lockdown this way?

I keep mine at 50%-60% at the start and during incubation. I go into lockdown when there's 3 days left and up the humidity to 70%-75%. I keep the temp between 99F and 100F the whole time.

they usually start moving and penetrating into the air sac during the last 3 days.

how do you get the humidity that high. I have sponges in there and its only at 50 %

What kind of incubator are you using muscovy14312??? - People may be able to give you a better idea if they know what kind- rather than just generalising.

Fold a wash cloth in half then roll it up, soak it with warm water and it'll stay wet & at a good % for a couple days. you have to wet it more often than a sponge but it works really well.

I used to use sponges too but they didn't work very well, even if i put them in soaking wet. I have an LG(still air) & a HovaBator(still air)

I wrapped a moist warm towel and it is by a warm rock and than we have a heat sun lamp is this good enough for muscovy egg to hatch? Never did this before.
What do you feed the baby muscot if it hatches and how? Our muscovy ducks left the egg yesterday due to people working by the nest they did not go back for 14 hours
so we took the egg and are trying to save it. Any suggestions or help is greatly appreciated. The muscovy ducks are wild but we feed them every morning out back and they
always come to our house everyday. So we want to save the duckling if we can. Anyway to know if the egg is good. We believe it is because the only left it yesterday due to
guys working in that area by their nest.
