Incubating peafowl eggs thread

Hi All, I realize that this post was several years ago... are you still keeping these numbers for your incubation. I have had my eggs at 60% since the first day since everywhere I read its a different number. I thought maybe I should bring it down to 55% per some of these replies. What are your thoughts?? One of my eggs is 3 weeks in and the others are about a week in. I am about to switch the 3 week old egg into its own incubator for the rest of the incubation period.

If you want to find the right humidity setting for your area weigh the eggs before you set them then every week until they go in the hatcher. The aim is to lose 15% of the total weight. Here, I use 45% during the incubation and raise it to 60% in the hatcher.

Thank you! I wonder does it matter if they are being incubated in my house and we have the air-conditioning on? Because I live in FL and it is very humid but not in my house. Lol I think I am making it more complicated than it needs to be. I just want the to hatch so badly!

You will do much better in a controlled environment where there are not any wild temperature swings. I realize that it is unlikely you have a basement in Fl. but that is the best place for incubating eggs.
