incubating pheasant's eggs

Today is day 17th and I can not see any veins inside when candling the eggs. Half the egg is dark and the other is light. Do I have rotten eggs? They don’t stink, I open one yesterday because I was curious and all I saw was yoke and two black balls. Am I doing something wrong???
