Incubating quail eggs for the first time : )

I had a female that did that. So she got eaten! The male I kept was laid back. The other male seemed wired and used to run back and forth and cause a ruckus.

I guess they are trying to establish a pecking order. I have a female now that was quiet, but is matron now and occasionally goes on a pecking spree!

My other chicks are 2 and 3 weeks today...I'm only going to keep 2 or 3 females to go with my a&m trio outside. Its going to be hard, I love all the colors. Lol may have to convince hubby to build me a second pen. : P

My a&ms are 6 weeks now.. I kept my favorite male, and he has 2 girls. I had too many boys, they are now resting in the freezer... : ( now I have to wait for eggs!! Always waiting for something I swear!

Hi all-my little pharaohs are almost 2 weeks old. I've lost a couple now I'm down to 10 and one is a cross beak (but she's a tough little booger, so hopefully she'll make it!) I'm almost positive I can already see some spotting on the babies breasts so that's encouraging. :)

I have 48 A&M eggs coming tomorrow, then I have 50 JMF A&M coming in 2 weeks. My rabbit cages came, so I'm going to set those up when I get a chance...to make room in tubs for new babies!

My chicken chicks are SO big, I can't wait for them to be able to go outside-they're getting stinky!
