We are incubating quail eggs for the first time...so any tips please?
Stop Turning?
They hatch 16-18 days.
Temperature?
Humidity?

Thanks!!

What kind of quail are you hatching?

Generally, they are the same as chickens, except for the day you stop turning.
Still air: 101-102°F, 45-50% humidity; stop turning 3 days before due date and bump humidity to 65-75%.
Forced air: 99.5°F, humidity the same.

Buttons/Coturnix: Stop turning 14 days, should hatch 16-17 days.
Bobwhites: Stop turning 21 days, should hatech 23 days.

Edited to add: The eggs are a lot smaller, so the higher humidity could drown them. You have to make sure your hygrometer is working perfectly.

okay, the humidity is 60-70% during incubation, and 75-85% while hatching. and you stop turning the eggs depending on the kind of quail. for buttons, i think you stop at 14 days. hope i helped!

Too high on the humidity and you will drown your quail chicks. I don't bump my humidity up past 60% when hatch time comes. As they hatch the humidity will rise a bit. I have had it as high as 80% and drown an entire batch.

I kept my button eggs at a steady 45-50% during incubation, and bumped it to at least 65% for the hatch. So far I have 19 chicks out of 30 eggs that had development!!
