Incubating Twin ducklings

awwwww do you think the wee little chicks would have been fine with the others??? or would they have been picked on?

please do I'll keep updated with how things go! :)

thank you and yes I've done so much reading and watching you tube on assisted hatchings...still terrified though..thats alot of twins I'm dealing with!

thanks...it is very cool but terrifying at the same time! I hope everything works out well! One more week!

I'll have to look for some hand warmers I think I have some kicking around here...not sure if the dollar store even has them in this time the year yet! Nor any other store for that matter...usually only a winter stock thing...Im sure I must have some. I'm making our brooder in the laundry sink as well putting some mesh down at the bottom but will make some little quilts with flannel like youve done or just pick some dollar store doggies blankets up. We'll make sure they're comfy cozy. What temp do you usually keep your brooder at? Same as the incubator?

90-95 but if you have a sickly chick a bit warmer for that chick.

I don't know about the duckling- but my one egg got melted from the heat we have here. (it was under momma) so since it has been hot I am incubating- I have one egg on day 5 it looks to have 2. I noticed the vein pattern was diff then what I was used to seeing. now I see the babies in side in candling bopping into eachother. I can see their eyes too.

really good advice to cage the wee weaker ones and the heating pad I like :) I have a heating lamp but can also put the heating pad in there. Since I posted this I have confirmed 5 sets of twins

Im kind of freaking out because this is our first time hatching anything and to have this many sets of twins all due at the same time.....OMGGGGGG!!!!!!! They're all due next week. Of course I've been reading like crazy and have watched a video of a successful twin hatch but this is crazy! I think our heatwave did something to my eggs LOL. Ive never heard of anyone having this many sets of twins before all from the same duck too.
