OMG

that egg I dropped internally pipped!!! how it did I have no freaking clue!!!

I didnt even notice it until I went to upload an image this morning for you all to show what started to hatch!

and little lucas and I sat and watched it for about 20 minutes and I thought the thing may have been trying to zip aroung but was not getting footing and was just breaking the shell into bits and pieces so I took the top off the rest of the way and look!!!!!!! where I had dropped the little booger!!! HE IS FINE AND PIPPED!!! and looks like only a bit to absorb and pretty active and chirping.

He aint got much shell around him so, pray he finishes up fast like he others! (ps thats NOT is top sitting there, his backside and top was busted to pcs day 18)

Anyways.....

Hatching has seriously begun I think 14 or so are out, luke counted lol.....

Been watching this thread but haven't posted on it yet. Anyway my incubators run year around. Just hatched a group of Khaki Campbell's on Tuesday and a group of bantam Cochins a week ago Friday (went 61 for 62). Also I have Barred Rocks, Easter Eggers, Australorps and Rhode Island Reds hatching next Wednesday and then we have Barred Rock/Light Brahma's hatching on Wednesday that are from our egg layer pen. All are laid in my breeding pens. Oh, I can't forget about the Silkies that are hatching on the 2nd!

Anyway, had a heart stopper yesterday with one of my cabinet incubators. All my cabinets and hatchers run incubator warehouse digital t-stats and I've had very good luck with them. When I walked by the cabinet, I noticed one of my good thermeters was reading 104.5. So I looked at the other 2 and same thing. The t-stat was saying 99.5 so I grabbed the thermal gun and hit a few eggs, 104.5'ish. Dang it. Luckily I had an open hatcher that was running and was able to move them. These are the mixed pen eggs hatching Wednesday. It couldn't have been that way more than a few hours and looks like they'll be fine. I did go ahead and candle this morning and they are alive. The most I've ever had to offset one of t-stats is .4 degrees to match calibrated thermometers and I have 8 of the t-stats. After trouble shooting this, it automatically offset itself -5.0 degrees. Wow!!!! The keypad was locked and I have no idea what happened or why it happened. I reset it it and it's been steady according to the log. I think I'll just order a new one for the piece of mind.

Welcome :)

She's beautiful! So happy when I hear folks doing the right thing with breeding. I used to foster, and I've learned, there are good breeders, and those that over breed, even those that are breeding...right...I feel are breeding too much during the dogs life.
She might not be happy with you now, but as you know, she will be her sweet self again in no time. Really pretty!

So I decided to candle early since my garage is dark enough! So for day 7 shipped eggs from Sally revealed 4/7 CLB growing and moving. 3 were clear. Project shipped eggs from Sally revealed 4/5 growing and moving. 1 was clear. My personal CLB/EE cross eggs 4/4 are growing and moving.

So total shipped eggs 8/12. 66% are growing!!!!!

Here are some pictures!!!

After 40 hours without power, it is BACK! SO happy!

After a night of having a day old chick in my shirt to keep warm during the night, and waking every time it snuggled deeper because those little claws HURT...

After a night of the generator going down because some fool in the manufacturing plant didn't make sure the gaskets for the oil tank were on properly. (Yes, brand new generator...)

After a day of chopping up and stacking wood, and finding a few awesome branches for more roosts!

After a second night of 2 hours of trying to prevent the month old from flying out of the makeshift brooder with the day old...

Maybe tonight I can get a good nights sleep!

... after work....

Soo happy for you! Whew, sounds like quite the time you had while it was out. Hope you get a good nights rest! Sleep!
