Quote: Albon susoension is just 5% sulfadimethoxine, so anything that's sulfadimethoxine will work.
Albon is prescription only, but DiMethox is not and a couple others are not. DiMethox comes as an injectable, liquid and powder.
- Albon Solution= 5% = 50 mg per ml
- Dimethox Solution = 12.5% = 125 mg per ml
- Dimethox injectable = 40% = 400 mg per ml
- Dimethox powder = one teaspoon probably weighs about 3 grams - will do the math on this one later.
In the meantime, can you dose him with a Corid drench? If you have the liquid, give 0.02ml undiluted per 100 grams orally. If you have powder, mix 1/2 teaspoon with 10 ml of water and give 0.07 ml per 100 grams orally. Give drench for 1-3 days in addition to his medicated water.
- Powder - no less than 1.5 teaspoons per gallon for 5 days, then 1/3 teaspoon for 7-14 days. Ignore any post that says to use less, 'cause it's wrong, lol.
- Liquid - 2 teaspoons per gallon for 5 days, then 1/2 teaspoon for 7-14 days.
Make a mash using the medicated water and his crumbles, that might be a good way to get more food, water and medication into him.
