Just the usual amount of causing trouble. Get out after any fish over the weekend?
I went out last night....my buddy did well catching smaller walleye on jigs.....but I was baiting for larger fish .....I did hook a nice one but lost it during the netting.....the hook came out and got Jason in the forehead.

I have not decided how long to have them in there. I think I may make it safe enough (and with a run) to let me keep them in there for a few days even. If it means that I can take my time collecting the boys (making sure I have them all). Especially with the baby here, and other things going on. It might be easier to begin putting them in early.
Since I now remember that I have crates, it will have a bottom. Heck, covering walls will be easy. Even adding a run can be simple. Especially since I still have the run I used a few years ago when using a crate for some young turkeys.

The concern I would have with crates is that a raccoon can reach in and pull the bird through.
It happened to me. I had a spare rooster I was keeping on the back porch in a big dog pen.
When the weather was nice, I'd put him out on the patio. One evening I didn't bring him in before dark - that was the end of him.

That reminds me, I have to set some traps tonight.

So it went from one big fish to another?

Yes, I see what you are saying. I have boards I can re-attach to make it predator safe.

Yeah something like that.....I have the luxury of having enough fish in the freezer that I'm really trying to figure out where the larger walleye are hanging out.....so I've just been baiting with larger Berkley "GULP" minnows. So I'm not getting any of the smaller fish. :fl hopefully it pays of with a couple "HOGS" over the summer

Lucky he had sunglasses on.

Quote: I do as well, but this happened when I was giving 200 ml of fluids, and when giving fluids, vets and techs recommend giving fluids to larger fowl in the intrascapular region. When this happened I was giving fluids by myself and she jumped, so I'm guessing that the needle redirected and poked an air sac, at which point she sounded like she was drowning, so I let her go and she managed to cough the fluids out, or absorb them.

Test chicken
This the size of the bubble after 75ml.

Here you can see how it's spread under the skin.

Pre-filled syringes with warmed fluids and new 18 gauge needle.

Wet area with rubbing alcohol, this will allow better viewing of the injection site.

Hopefully your plan works out.

He didn't care.
I didn't say he was bright.

It's hard to imagine some people as the end result of millions of years of selective evolution.

Any kind of torch.

What was the netting made of, nylon?

An angry hater. No real connection except for the 911 call pledging allegiance. Apparently that was the only connection.  That allegiance didn't last long, did it.
His ex-wife said he was abusive and mentally ill.  - YA THINK?
She had to escape with help from her parents.

She also said, he had often made ant-gay comments as did one of his former employers.

We used to have the feed store deliver lime. They had a big 5 ton truck they would drive the fields broadcasting it.
Then we'd plow and disc the field.
That's the easy way to do it until the truck gets stuck. We tried to pull him out with the tractor. Once, he had to leave it for over a week till the ground dried out.

It helps neutralize bacterial activity.
It isn't dangerous. I make dust baths out of sand, soil, AG lime and wood ashes.

To know how much, you need to do a soil test. Lime raises the pH of soil that is too acidic. However, if the soil was already in the correct range, chicken manure can raise the pH so if you want to plant anything, I'd do a pH test before adding lime.

Lime contains calcium but because of the higher pH, it improves the uptake of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium.
The problem with trying to grow anything where chickens have been is soil compaction and high phosphorus. Also, free salts in the manure limits seed germination.
Excess phosphorus limits a plant's ability to uptake iron and zinc.

I bought some at Lowe's but I'm sure feed stores carry it too. At least the old tymey type would.

I would call that pre-limed.
Your children would like to see them.

I haven't used my big one in a long time. It's a 60+ year old Yardman. That used to be a good brand. I had to replace the motor on it once.

Remind me, what is the crate for?

Sometimes it just takes a day of separation - or less. No show for that bird.

Is that a Northern Pacific or Great Basin rattlesnake. .

I haven't seen any poisonous snakes here, lots of snakes just no poisonous ones.
Our farm had lots of Eastern Diamondbacks - and copperheads and water moccasins.

Going to go with A. Northern Pacific
