Sick bird is still coughing but the humidifier is helping. She doesn't rattle anymore, just coughs. Eating a little and drinking some. Hopefully this blows over in a week or two.

I have 12 chicks 7 days old when do i take them off chick booster and feed them grower ?

i feed grower from day 1, then to layer around 16 weeks

Help we are supposed to have some severe weather hit later tonight and there is a pretty big risk of electric loss. The big issue is I set eggs yesterday and the consist of 5 chicken eggs, and 1 call duck egg. What am I to do if something happens? Thanks for any help ahead of time.

I give up. I was trying to get the site to come up correctly, but all three browsers are the same. I am just going to have to use mobile unless someone can tell me how to get the desktop version to come up right since yesterday's "upgrade".

Just two days ago I replaced my DC/AC converter in the truck, so I'm covered, long as any outage doesn't last long enough to drain the battery, in which case we'll have bigger problems to contend with than a few eggs getting cold.

Now one of the others has gone broody on my so I took two of the first ones eggs along with a fake egg for her to sit on. Now I have one lonely chicken. Should I get her a friend?

I am getting there thanks. I was on the mats for just the second time without my brace last night, and while I can still feel it it is getting stronger slowly. I can't wait to be able to move freely and will power again. I am glad I did not know in January when I sprained my ankle would be weak (I did not believe the 4-6 months then).

Some incubators have a dc option, I almost bought the cables for my hova, I have a small generator though. TSC usually has a Champion 3,500/4,000 watt on sale for $300, was $280 last weekend. Not big enough to run a whole house all at once but big enough to run the essentials, and uses half the fuel of a big generator. That was the main reason I went with a smaller generator, if powers out for days I'd like to be able to afford to put fuel in it.

Get one set up for propane....it's less than a dollar a gallon right now.

 How long was your power out?
