Good afternoon all!! I logged on about 50 pages behind. I slowly got through 30 of them, but I was still 50 pages behind. So, I jumped ahead quite a bit and read this....

For safety's sake, I would at least research it before doing what the vet says.

To me it could be either. The vet was supposed to clear it up.

Did the vet say IB? What drugs did they prescribe?

We asked specifically if it was and she said no and something to the tune of "bacterial infection". Gave her an injection to clear her sinuses and prescried antibiotics. Translating from Dutch is a little difficult for me and Husband can be unreliable.

Still not finished yet. With all the rain perhaps I should be focusing on building an Ark!, however, here are the nesting boxes in my current build, the "Banty Shanty. Two ways to gather. Through the lower door:

Or upper door:

:)

Outside view:

Here are our two new nest boxes. We installed them yesterday and the Girls have adapted well so far even if they do give us strange looks when we come in to feed.

When we first got chickens 3 years ago, they were chicks and hung out with the horses during the day. Went to feed the horses in a tractor tire (given to us by a neighbor) and found an egg in it. Moved the tire into the coop they were in at the time and have been using one ever since. In the new coop, we split the tire and made 2 levels. My husband put a shelf between them because the girls were fighting over the top level and pushing each other out. As you can see, they no longer prefer the top level. 20 hens share this setup and seem real happy with it.

Next pic is after I removed the eggs. 9 eggs in 16 hours, not bad considering it snowed less than 2 weeks ago and the girls are just getting up to speed.

I was sure we were going to need boards on the ends to keep the eggs from falling out, but the chickens don't like to be near the edges so it hasn't been an issue.

My sweet grandma came to visit my farm! She said "Well it's not much of a farm, is it?" She grew up helping her brothers in hay and cotton fields, so she knows.
