She hasn't bothered mine. Free range dog is the best, or electroFRY it! not the puny electonet either, go with a real electric fence, cost less than a $100 if you get a plug in model, wire is cheap, solar cost $$ I saw one at ouced store that is ac and dc with cables for less than TSC just ac, can add a battery and cheap solar panel from Northern Tool, few suggestions not my pics;

Corid, at the correct dose will have them showing improvement within a day. By three days they will usually look completely normal. You need to threat all of the littles. I would go with the 1tsp of powder per gallon for 7 days and then the 1/2tsp of powder for the next 7 days...and watch them carefully for signs of cocci to return. I bet Kathy posted the chart but I will post it again since this is a busy thread.![]()
IMO you shouldn't let them out until the problem is fixed. In the meantime you HAVE to defuse the stress impact on your flock, if you don't make it you could end with disease eruption in them, the worst you could have is Marek's ! What you should do: 1. Give them extra electrolytes in the water and vitamins in the feed, for several dayes. 2. Enrich their diet with supplemental protein, like boiled eggs, fish, shredded cheese 3. Minimum human, especially little children, chickens interaction. 4. No new birds to the flock in the near time. Be were especially on the pullets that are at the point of lay! They are the most vornble.
Thanks. That's interesting. So, is that what a chicken egg's shell temp should be, or a pea egg's shell temp?What kind of fox? He sounds pretty bold! That's good that you're locking the chickens up early. The grey fox at our house came somewhere around 5:00-5:30, so that's what I have to do, too. Awww they are so adorable!

Interesting and well written story. I felt like I was watching a movie. What time of day was the fox fiasco? Someone just got charged for their 6 month old daughter's death being left in the car. Congratulations. I can't believe it. You should document everything you did. bothWhen it is 100+ and no injuries or symptoms of disease. I'm about to pull her out of the freezer. The maggots should be dead by now. 4 hours till trash pickup. I plan on cutting her open about 5 AM. I'm with you on that. They don't. However, your egg isn't under a hen, it is on a heat pad. It's usually humid here too but ambient humidity can actually drop into the 30s. That's not humid enough for a bird to hatch successfully. Under a hen, the humidity is held in. You can'
Again thank you all for your help and sympathy. The corid is the liquid and I have been doing two teaspoons per gallon. From what I have found this is correct yes? If there is a chart like the one that was posted for the liquid I would greatly appreciate it. I always want to double check my measurements to be sure that I have it correct. I believe I posted last night that we lost a second chick and it did indeed have bloody stool before it passed. That's something at least to have to confirmation. I'm just hoping we don't lose any more today. We have been doing supportive therapy with the adults but they all seem fine. It has actually been pretty dry here up until the last couple of days while early spring was more wet. It has also been quite hot here too until about yesterday it cooled off a bit. Also thank you yes I know that corid works by stopping the protozoa from reproducing. Which makes me think that the poor babies we lost were just too far gone and too overloaded with the cocci. Will get on and give an update and finish my post this afternoon but right now DH2B is home for lunch so I'm off to go eat and check the flock.e But if it was two miles high that would be awesome
