mist strings? can they be a DIY or no? @ronott1

They could be DIY but the orbit mist system from Amazon is very low cost. I have three strings of them and an orbit timer. Today it runs from 2 to 6.

Extra strings are added to the end and are sold a la carte. Orbit also sells calcium filters for hard water areas. The hose is sun safe too. I have had these for three years now.

Yes it is. I put very little in my deer burger. Hard to believe that years ago I liked hamburger so good. Now it's instant indigestion.

That is why I raise my own beef. That stuff at the store gives me the runs.

Hey friends. I am new to hatching/candling and am on day 6 with shipped eggs. I set 6 eggs. This morning 1 was clear and I had 1 blood ring. Opened them up and they were scrambled from shipping. I was kind of expecting it from when I first candled. I saw bubbles in them.

However, on my other 4 I'd like to describe what I see and find out if its good or bad. When I candle from the air cell down (because I am being so careful not to disrupt the air cell anymore than USPS already did) I see what is like an egg with 4 layers. I see the air cell, then veins raining down the sides of the shell, then a darker ring, then clear egg. I do not see an embryo or a circle of vessels. Not sure if I will see that around day 10, or maybe never? I look at the candling pics online and it looks so perfect. That lottle round emryo and the vessels radiating out from it.
My eggs are light brown. They're barred rock. Does it sound like they're normal or is there a problem?

I'm going to big town today (an hour drive) to get hair cuts for me and the kids. I'm about to shower and put on nice clothes. If that doesn't trigger goat labor, I don't know what will.

I'll paint my fingernails, too. I never do that since I became a farmer who also works food service.

@Sally Sunshine One of my Christmas chicks is broody. I am not sure if I will break her or leave her be, it is really hot and humid here, and will only get hotter going into July.

hot is ok for chicks right? but where is she located and temp in that area?

Hey all thank you for the support. I really need it. We lost the first chick about 5 pm and at 9:45 PM the second breathed it's last in DH2B's hand.

It also pooped as isn't uncommon in death but the stool was bloody and I take that as confirmation. The water is being treated and o have been syringe feeding them raw egg yolk laced with corid and electrolytes.

Is there anything else we can do? Am I doing anything wrong?

Would it hurt the littles inside to be put on a preventative dose? What age can they safely be given the corid?

As for the fox we look for it every night and wait up trying to catch it in the act. The flock has always been locked up every night. We are, however, locking them up earlier BC of it now but we never know when it will come.

awwww I think you know what temps are perfect for them and you are doing all correctly, what dosage of corid are you giving them? and are you doing probotics too?

Free range dog is the best, or electroFRY it! not the puny electonet either, go with a real electric fence, cost less than a $100 if you get a plug in model, wire is cheap, solar cost $$ I saw one at our feed store that is ac and dc with cables for less than TSC just ac, can add a battery and cheap solar panel from Northern Tool, few suggestions not my pics;
