I have a digi stick thermometer and a water wiggler.. I tried to calibrate with ice and couldn't find a dang reset button but I know now that it reads .5 degrees too high. That is the most accurate reading I can get so that is what I go by. EDIT: to add pics

Over 2 days

Hello Everyone! I put three thermometers in the incubator last night, and they didn't seem to work very well... So I kept one in there, and this morning the incubator read 99.1, and the thermometer read 99.5. What should I do?

Ok, I will look into that. I think I might go to a pet store today, (They weren't open yesterday) and buy some Reptile thermometers and hygrometers. I used to have a Bearded Dragon, and his were extremely accurate.

You should put all of your new thermometers in a ziploc bag, squeeze the air out, seal it, and submerge the bag in a container of ice water. There should just be enough water to cover the bag without floating the ice. Leave the bag in for about 5-10 minutes, then check to see if any of them are at 32F. The one(s) that is/are are accurate. If any are off, note how much and compensate for the difference if you can't calibrate it/them. Depending on the type of thermometer, you can also do a boil test...

Here are some pics of the thermos I use in my cabinet #1. This this the very first cabinet I built, I have since built 2 others and use them as well. This one hold 164 eggs in factory turners or 352 in rite farm holders. As you can see my temps are very consistent through out the cabinet. You've got to be able to trust your thermos and know how the read. If they are reliable, pitch them. Believe it or not, I actually have 6 thermos scattered through each cabinet. Twice a year I take 1 thermometer from each cabinet and each hatcher in to be certified. I then check the others to them.

You didn't beat me by much, but if we compensate for size difference, I beat you by several miles! I had 5 thermometers in my IncuView... which holds a max of 27 eggs!!!

Also, in my experience if I had to trust a thermo right out of the box, it would be the GQF dial thermo. I have 8 or 10 of them running around and they've always been spot on and reliable.
