oh that reminds me!!!! I did take three chicks from the broody for a local lady, she has all the others under her in one of the grow out pens though as you all suggested. I tried taking pics but they only popped out one at a time lol

I only gave her cuckoo marans OE and welsummer OE chicks

COONS!!!!! I knew there were some around, but last night I was getting home late to do chores. I reached for the barn light and saw something run that I registered was not my cat, but before I fully processed that I saw the other three startled racoons staring at me from three feet away from around the cat food bowl sitting on the crate.
I wish I had a shotgun (just a rifle and hand guns) I hate these bloody live traps.

Live traps are really good at catching cats.
