Hey everyone... I'm new to hatching chicks.. Very first batch in incubator right now. My lovely pal that I work with have me them. No one around town had and baby chicks. Hope to lean a lot from you all and I'm reading previous pages to learn. Best of wishes to everyone

I'm thinking the same for alfalfa; it might be too "hot" for stock that isn't active enough to utilize all that extra protein, or dairy cows being milked daily, possibly causing kidney damage. I only fed alfalfa to my horses when they were working hard; otherwise, it was timothy/orchard grass.

@BantyChooks

Hi Mike

Great.

I was gone a few days, last night when I check the broody had different eggs under her, so I took them away. I'll have to check if she is sitting on some this evening.

Although it's very costly in coop space the hen has her
own space. Less confusing although I'm going to have to make sure chicks stay on her side.
