Is there floor on the ground or is it elevated?
Currently it is on the ground, but I am seriously considering a raised wood floor. I realize with them going to the bathroom it will rot out eventuall even if I clean a bunch, but the value of them having somewhere dry to help avoid coccidiosis is really tempting me. My loafing sheds take on water when we get 6-12" in a day or so, and there is nowhere dry enough for my liking. The big shed stays dry enough, but they don't go out to the horse size loafing shed much. They prefer my six by six ones, but where they are, they get too much run off in the clay soil and are not dry enough. I am going to get another load of rock, and try to raise then above the surrounding ground to avoid it.

HI Dax! Can you add small pea gravel and sand to your runs? We have clay here too and I have tilled in the smallest gravel I can get plus 10 bags of play sand. I try to till it once a month to keep it loose and sprinkle in Lyme every 3 times. The water soaks in more now for me than run to one spot and flood it.I have coccis here too but have been lucky so far. Also if you get your coop up off the ground skirt it wherever it doesn't meet with your run fence. Had a rat move in last year under Fester's coop. My coop floors are6 inches off the ground. Marine plywood, painted and sealed on outside edge.
