You have an exciting life. While chicks don't make me get goofy (proven since I forget they are incubating) it is still a thing to deal with. And feed!

Sounds like you have interesting weather!
I'm thinking about putting my 3 to 4 day old chicks out in the coop with the 9 to 15 day old chicks with no heat today or tomorrow. It is a good size building for chicks. (they look lost in there) I'll need room inside in a couple days when 10 more may hatch.
There will be close to 20 chicks to keep each other warm when temp drops to 80 or less. The building with 6-12 week old chicks has a runt in it that I may move to they younger building. The older chicks are starting to get a bit cramped anyway. I'm going to try to finish their pen so they can go outside this week.
My biggest concern is them getting too hot in the next few days. This complex of buildings is the coolest place on the property under an elm grove with big windows.

I think I better get outside and get some chores done while it is still cool enough. It is still only 83 and in spite of the humidity, it doesn't feel as bad as it will when the sun's high.

I have to practice pool every day this week. The last 2 days, I was too sore and tired to do anything but essential chores. Our first single elimination match is Saturday at 3 PM. Our 2 all stars got knocked out in the 4th round this past Saturday in the singles competition. There are teams/shooters coming from several counties and about 100 mile radius.

I've thought about it before as well...........also thought about moving to Montana.
Montana is nice.

I am glad our heat isn't like that. It was too cool last summer (I never used AC) but the current temps are good. 95 has been the highest.
I get jealous of you guys when you talk about your awesome property and coops. Then I remember. I don't have a mortgage, and I have plenty of coop space. I may not have the privacy of trees, but I also don't have a predator problem. All in all, I am better off than a lot of people on here.
But I still want your set up.

Good luck getting your work done! Do well at your competition. I am sorry you are hurting.
