Thank you for the articla but none of the answers match my situation as the egg is almost finished but has not made any progress for a good while I am thinking more humidty.

You can continue to finish the zip for the duckling and take off the top cap of the egg. Let the duckling push off the rest of the egg if it's able to. When assisting it keep it in a warm wet paper towel.

agreed

Should I put the paper towel in the bator for a few minutes so it will warm and what do I use to assist?? Thanks for any and all help

Hi

I've just had two duck eggs hatch woooo!!!

Now the humidity it up to 82%, is this ok? Will it go down? I've opened up the vent fully

The fourth (and last) Buff duck hatched last night! I put them all in the brooder this morning and so far so good!

I woke up to find two of the Cayuga had hatched after I went to bed! They are so hard to get a picture of though. They're solid black so they blend right in with the tray

I either use warm water or I microwave the towel for a couple seconds. I just use my finger nails to remove shell pieces but others use tweezers.

Ok should I dip the tweezer in something to disinfect them first? How long should I assist for? How do I know when to stop and give it more time? It's way over due it's hatch date and been zipped for awhile so it is probaly nessary but just a bit worried, I do know to stop if I see blood but that's all i know.

Finish the zip for the duck and remove the top part of the shell. I don't think you will but stop if you see blood.
