If I wanted to spend $125 total or less....which incubator would you guys suggest? I'm think the max I would hatch out is 12-24 at once.

In that price range, you're talking styrofoam. I don't know what they're running these days, but I, personally, wouldn't buy any but a Hov-A-Bator, preferrably with a turner, definitely with a fan.

DIY bator. I made one for $45, it isn't hard, and it is much more reliable than anything else you can buy for $125. I can leave it, and be confident it will be at 100.5 when I get back.

Has anyone brooded 100 chicks before?

I just emailed S & G Poultry about availability and wait list for their broiler line of Naked Necks. Minimum order of 100. Yes, I'm nuts...

I've only ever brooded 13 at one time, max!

Most I've ever done is 30...

I have. It is much easier brooding 100 chicks than it is butchering 95.

Look up Ohio Brooder on google. You can build them in any size but the original 4X4 broods about 150 chicks. Works like a champ. The only drawback is not being able to see them except when they come out so looking for a pasted vent is a challenge.
