I just went into the kitchen for more coffee, leaving my mug on my desk. I figured I could just use my hands.

Of course it aint enuf coffee, that's why I refill it 3 times!

Fortunately, I went back for the mug. More fortunate, Duckling is still asleep, so she is safe. I just hope I wake enough by the time she calls for me!

Whites, ma bad, I gave you set date for the eggs.

Hatch dates were between 5/29 (first two) with an eggtopsy date of 6/3, in which post you said you had hatched 5 total, but I couldn't find anything other than that.

Yeah, they are. Hatched 5/12..several clears & one that quit. Ones that hatched are looking good; 4 yellows with black spots, one all black with eathered legs

Not since 14, but they should've hatched by Monday or Tuesday if they were going to...never so much as a pip. I left some of the last batch in and extra week and nothing ever happened

I opened the 7 unhatched eggs and found about what I thought I would; nothing even faintly resembling a developing chick in any of them. In some there was an unidentifiable brown blob; guess that was what would have been an embryo had it developed more. The one that surprised me most was the one that had shown definite embryonic movement and good veining on day 14...nothing now.

I guess you'll have this, if you stick with it long enough.

Today got off to a decent start; just woke up to 2/12 chicks hatched that weren't officially due 'til tomorrow. Not bad, so far, considering I really didn't expect any to successfully hatch after all the humidity swings from the beginning, so every one's an unexpected bonus. The rest of the day should be interesting.

[/quote] ha ha no. He had a 6 level homemade wooden bator Bayer and had room for our 20 eggs we had. 2 separate batches only 8 made it to hatch though. He doesn't candle or measure humidity. Just pours water in, and turns 1 time a day. He's old school without technology but he's been doing it his whole life so I guess he knows what he's doing. Hatches turkey, duck, chicken, and the occasional goose. And just gives them all away to family. The whole family raised birds.
