Trying to get them to take flashlights out for nightcrawlers, they are not falling for it  lol

Mine are watching a movie. We finally told DD about her hen. It went about as well as expected. I told her she could pick any chick/pullet to keep, or we could get a couple after we get our numbers down.

She asked for a pony. Or a pig.

So I did a dry run with the bucket incubator. The Christmas light rope had the temperature at 120 before I shut her down. Definitely has possibilities.

How many eggs you figure it will handle comfortably?
Are the bulbs screw-in?
We have icecicle lights around our porch. You're welcome to use it as an incubator whenever you want; might want to close it in first, but I bet it wouldn't overheat

what did they hang onto the 2x4s?

When I tore down the coop they were on top of the 2/4's under the metal roofing. Super hot.
The ones in the barn rafters just hang onto the siding and the rafters of the breezeway. Anything they can get their little claws to hang onto they do.
