Pretty sure I have cocci going through my flock! I hate you Cocci!!!!!
The best defense is keeping the bedding bone dry. Coccidia can't complete their lifecycle in a dry environment.
In all my years of raising chickens, I've dealt with coccidiosis twice. Once with chicks and once with adults - no losses.
If chicks have never been outside or exposed in some way like bringing in something on shoes, they shouldn't contract issues.
Even with outside access, if they have enough space so feces isn't concentrated and keeping bedding dry, there shouldn't be a problem.

Ok in my coop what do you all recommend for the bedding/flooring... I was thinking about leaving it grass and put sand in....
Depends on your climate and stocking density. Grass won't last long at all and as soon as they scratch up all the plant life and soil gets compacted and loaded with phosphorus from feces, nothing will grow there.
I like straw in the run and pine shavings in the coop.
Sand works.
