yes Liz, esp potty training!!!  that is THE most frustrating of all things for me.  I can potty train kids before two.  Parents want to give the kids time to learn themselves.  whatever,  like that happens, if it does its a RARE thing.  Same trick to to potty training and if the parents are not on board, they will pee and poop themselves at home until parents have had enough and finall ymake the kids listen to them!

Again its the mental state of the grown up, not the kiddo!  Throw out the diapers the aids, put on the undies and if they have an accident they have to know its NOT what is expected of them, right to them, they have to know the disapointment, not its okkkkkkk it was an accident.  Praise for the good with mnms or redfish!  but when they dont do what is expected they need to know its NOT ok.

It's the redfish that did it for me..

i HATE changing diapers... my first refused to potty train. (he's special needs.) I made him clean up after himself, because I got tired of it LOL Eventually, so did he and he stopped wearing diapers altogether around 3-4... but he was 10 before he stopped having accidents and wetting the bed at night.

My second, I had potty trained by 18 months, and we started when she was 15 months.

My other son, we are working on it, due to being a 24 week preemie, he's developmentally not quite ready, he's scared of the potty, so I'm just waiting for him to show me signs that he's ready. my newest daughter, wakes up dry most mornings... so I have a feeling she'll be easy to train like her sister, and I'm hoping to train my toddler and her at the same time. If he sees another little kid using the potty, hopefully that will show him "nothing to be afraid" of.

That, and his short-gut issues, I wouldn't be surprised to find out he also has some issues from nerve damage from having some of his intestines removed. He just turned 2, but developmentally wasn't considered "2" until august... so if I'm guessing if I give him another year, he'll be ready to just breeze into it.

I did find that my brother/sister seemed to have a similar pattern as my kids, girls train faster than boys. LOL

Thought everyone would like to see the little survivor today. I decided to name her Mira for miracle. She's much, much more alert today (though she doesn't look like it in the first picture) and feeling a bit better. Her head does stink though. Is that normal? I noticed it when I was flushing it. She's had that eye open all day :) You can probably see that it's stretched back and there's a wrinkle under it but it still works :)

She might be a hot mess, but she looks like she's got a spirited personality.

you got it, that is why the Supposedly is there......

there is a pdf somewhere in the files with the studies that may have promise. But its not from this year

I did Lazy's round egg / oval egg experiment...round eggs producing more females than males. I set the roundest eggs I got for a week. On a couple of them I couldn't tell one end from the other 'til I candled.. Of 7 chicks hatched, 4 were cockerels

You know I hear you on potty training. Duckling was clean and dry all day and night for a few conservative days, and almost dry for several others surrounding that day back in April. Then Brian died. After doing so well (while here) in March and April, two weeks without me, and she stopped cold turkey. Last week we had success. In 24 hours, she used the potty four times! She also had success periodically the few days before that. She just turned two. I'm not going to jump around worried. But I can't understand how parents wait until three to start. Her poop stinks!!!! And it fills up the diaper to its limit.
Back in March and April, she was getting my little ponies. Now she gets M&Ms.
She also has a lot more respect for me than she does anyone else. Sadly, the adults throw temper tantrums. It's going to be a challenge to keep from giving up as she gets older. So far though, I can't say she has had much of one.

Aretha (Muscovy) has begun laying. I found two. Now I have questions. How did I miss the egg yesterday? Did she begin now because it was time, or because there is only one drake, not five? Does it matter? No. Do I have a burning desire to know? Yes!! :th
