yay and remember it's pre k not kindergarten, there's still time!!
Awesome! She looks much better
Depends on smell, is she on an antibiotic yet?
sounds like you know what u r doing, great job!
lol don't we all
Burning ring of fire popped into my head though
HA, getting him potty trained was a challenge, so I figure by 30, I'll have him bathing on his own... too...
Funny story, I took my oldest to the dentist, and asked her to explain to him the importance of brushing his teeth, properly. She agreed to do it - I figured it was worth a shot... maybe someone who's "not mom" explaining it to him would make it seem more real?
She gave him the talk, explained it in medical details, gave him all the answers he wanted... then, as he was leaving, she patted him on the shoulder and asked him if he was going to start brushing his teeth more.
He turned towards her, smirked and replied "Nope." and walked out.
The look on her face was priceless... and all I could say.. "well, it was worth a shot. Thanks anyways!"
I have to force him to bathe - and brush his teeth and now that he's almost as big as I am, force isn't always as easy as you'd think.
I've actually started threatening to just hose him off outside with cold water, if he's too lazy to use warm water. I'm hoping that makes him think twice.... I always have to get creative when it comes to him.
HE really makes me appreciate my other kids sometimes, because they like to bathe, brush their teeth and hair, and I don't have to threaten or punish to get it done. LOL
Might be MIA for a while; possibly into tomorrow. Had to take DW to the ER a bit ago; she thinks it's an anxiety attack...idk from nuthin'. I had to come back to lock the birds up; going back now to see what's up with her. BBASAP
Everyone's home, finally. It was just what she figured it was.
Hope they keep developing. I know some people do but I don't candle broody eggs. About the only thing I ever do is mark them when they come off to do their daily duty so I can remove any volunteers.Day 10, just candled the eggs in the incubator. Definitely had 3 chicks moving around in there! 1 egg looked dark & veined but didn't see any movement. Tossed the 3 clears.
I decided to candle one of the eggs from under the hens so I went outside & tried to take one from under a hen but she pecked me! I retreated in defeat. So no idea if those are developing. So far my experience has been that the broodies do a better job than the incubator though, so I will just assume that some will hatch out there. They are sitting on 5 eggs between them.
The broodies have settled their differences and are nicely sharing the eggs, so I am leaving them together for now.
I took a girlfriend to our family farm a long time ago. During the middle of the night, she woke up with horrible abdominal pains. We had to take her to the hospital 20 miles away. My family served chili for dinner. Turned out to be gas. I guess she did her best to hold it in so as not to embarrass herself. Thanks, Penn, and thanks also to everyone else who expressed concern & offered up prayers. IDK what brings on anxiety attacks, but that's all it was. ER nurse told her to call the Primary Care Doctor ( whatever happened to the good ol' family Doctor? ) and get a different medication. She takes so many pills already that she rattles when she walks! They don't cure anything anymore, they just throw more pills at us. Better living through chemistry.
They are beautiful! Crossing my fingers for the rest!!!Looks like it will be just the two ayam cemani. Today is day 21, but the other eggs have no pips or chirping. I will leave them in since it can't hurt.

OK, I had my suspicion and is proved true. I took Mira's food away yesterday before bed and her crop is still full. I've been massaging it after giving her water every time but still. Can shock and injury cause her to not be pushing the food through from her crop?
